On This Beautiful Place Called Bicol

Mac and I packed our bags and headed for his hometown Bicol last April 15. We took the 6am Cebu Pacific flight. Once you land in Legaspi, you'll be welcomed by the majestic Mayon Volcano. Although the airport personnel dissuaded the passengers from having their pictures taken with the volcano as the backdrop, a lot still got away with it. Including me!

Check out who welcomed us at the airport! Cultural dancers! Bicol's celebrating the MAGAYON Festival for the whole month of April. The dancers were there to welcome the tourists. But I think they were awaiting one special guest in particular... Dianne Necio, Binibining Pilipinas International 2011 who's from Bicol. Look at those costumes and those warm smiles.

After that very colorful welcome, Mac and I decided to have breakfast first since it was still super early. There's a nice little resto at the airport that serves breakfast for Php100.00. I ordered bangsilog (bangus and egg, with fried rice). The meal already included coffee. Check out our little 'Miggy' getting ready to eat.

After our yummy breakfast, it was off to Mac's lola's house. We call her Mamalola. We took a cab from the airport. And so... our adventure begins!
