On Mama's Golden Moment

Today is Mama's 65th birthday. We treated her to a very special surprise birthday dinner last night at the Naida Room of Conti's BF. She was evidently very happy seeing everyone there! Dex and I were talking this morning and we were certain this party would be the topic of the week.

The food was great! Mama got a lot of gifts too! And being in the company of family and friends really made the night very memorable. I went all out preparing for the birthday surprise, to show Mama how much we love and appreciate her. Thank you to everyone who made last night a tremendous success!

On Welcoming The New Year

It's been ages, I know. Thanks to the power of Destiny Cable, I finally have an Internet connection here in my room. And there are many more things to be thankful for. The past year has been UNBELIEVABLY generous to me. I feel like I'm God's favorite child after the many wonderful blessings He has so graciously showered upon me.

1) Was able to send Mama and Papa to Singapore for a "honeymoon". Gracias to Cuz for making their trip extra fun and hassle-free.

2) Although there were some who left and will be leaving the company, I'm happy to welcome those who will be joining our family. With God's good graces, I am confident that my team will be stronger and more powerful than ever!

3) Bespwen and I were still able to support the 'Pelikulang Pilipino'. Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo was fun. Loved the character of the stepbrother of Angie. Resiklo was lousy but Dingdong Dantes was worth my every penny. Still happy to know that Bespwen is still my Bespwen.

4) Spent time with Cuz at Bora. Was able to relax and talk about life. That was so good.

5) Spent time too with Hicky and Stanny. Kudos to Chito and Hicky on their engagement. I'm elated! And a beach party for a reception... Gotta start working out!

6) Projects galore. Magnus, Vanessa, Missy and the whole IHN family, Carol, Maureen Guiao, Steff and Kristy, Carlos and Ms Jinn... our Robinsons bosses, Ms Eunice and Ms Shiels and their astig marketing officers, Star and Marizel, Papa Gary. My suppliers... Priority 1, 2 and 3 plus Gerric Yo. I bet I forgot someone...

7) Everyone's in the best of health. My family, my team, Sweets.

8) Ahh... Sweets. How sweet it is to be loved by you.

C'mon 2008, I'm ready for you!

On Turning 28

I've reached the point in my life where everything is just how I want it. Well, not EVERYTHING. But it's almost as if I have conquered the world and God's giving out the lotto jackpot with me as his target (yey!)!

I have been extremely blessed the past year. And who would have ever thought that God had more plans up His sleeve. The agency is overflowing with projects that I am actually here at work now finishing a lot of stuff. It's a Saturday, for crying out loud! I should be in my room watching Startalk....

My team surprised me the night before my birthday and it's fantastic to feel loved and appreciated. I was able to take my parents on a romantic trip to Singapore and my brothers are doing well in school. I have ten cute little babies, all of whom now have their fab stroller to sleep in. I've been super active in church, serving as the president of the Lectors & Commentator's Guild and it's been an awesome ride. I'm teaching in Assumption this June. I've been wanting to teach since God knows when and now, I have this chance to give back to my Alma Mater and show the new AC girls some tricks of the trade.

And I have this light beaming from within me, an inner glow that has been undeniable all because of this one great love I never thought I'd ever find.

This life is precious and I thank God for it. I thank Him every day for being so generous and protecting of me.

Now it's time to start another year. And I know it'll be absolutely kick-ass.

On A Sad Departure

Although I get impatient with his kakulitan at times, I can't help but get teary-eyed at the thought that TOBEN will be leaving the company. He is already transferring to Cavite and with the distance and all, he might not be able to meet the demands of his job, especially now that we have CHUCKIE set-ups so early in the morning (as in 3am!)

I will miss my first-ever driver. More than a driver, he's been a confidante and friend. He has remained loyal and trustworthy and for that I will be forever grateful. I will surely miss our exchange of stories while stuck in traffic, or how he immediately asks me for toll money so that he doesn't need to wake me up when I fall asleep, or how he speeds up when he knows I am extremely late for a meeting.

TOBEN, it's been a fun ride with you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the service you have rendered to brainbeam. With this is my prayer, that you will continue to be safe in the rest of your life's journeys. God be with you and your family always.

On Their Upcoming Honeymoon!

I promised Panda and Mumski that I will send them to Singapore at the start of the year. Because of my hectic schedule, I wasn't able to polish the plans. But all is set, and my parents are scheduled to leave this March 1!

I've already booked them their flight and I'm going to give them their shopping money later. =) Still having problems though with their accommodations, as all the good hotels are fully booked! Haaayyy... Super photo finish. I tried one last hotel and I'll know of their availability tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

They are SUPER excited! Hindi na nga ata nakakatulog ang dalawa. I have been so blessed last year and I want them to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Cuz will be touring them around SG and I can't wait for them to see the Night Safari and Sentosa!

Panda, Mumski, thank you for EVERYTHING you have done and sacrificed for me and my brothers. Enjoy Singapore! And hopefully, I can send you to more trips in the future. Have a wonderful time! You both deserve it!

On My Authentic Chinese Man

Happy New Year of the Pig, everyone!
I've known Bru for almost 7 years now and it was only yesterday when I realized how Chinese-y he really is. We supervised our PLDT Budget Card event in Binondo yesterday and I've never had so much fun in Chinatown!
Bru drove and his driving skills are quite commendable! We had a BIG breakfast at one of the authentic Chinese restos there. Look at Bru pouring tea to his cup. Bagay na bagay sa kanya. Natural na natural tignan. And side note... the shrimp dumplings were yummy!!!
Then we went around Ongpin and bought some really cool stuff. Was able to buy a pair of red pumps and siya naman, brown sandals. Also bought a big ring (with a yellow crystal on it) from one of the stores. While going around, Bru saw this cart that sells yellow watermelons. Here he is buying a slice. Masarap daw sabi niya.
Today, we're going back there again and I'm sure we're up for more adventures. Thanks for this awesome day, Bru! ;)

On A Stripperrrrific Birthday Surprise

The Set-Up:
EA was sent to Elizabeth Seton to check up on our new CHUCKIE ROADSTER location. Then he was sent to Bespwen's office to deliver my Christmas gift to her, a car plate number cover. Then supposedly, he is to get two (2) CDs from a Goodyear client at Parque Espana, the site of our grand surprise.

The Accomplices:
Bespwen --
Asked her to let EA wait at their lobby up until I tell her that everything was set. She had to leave early though. So we asked EA to proceed to Festival Mall instead to canvass on the prices of children's white rubber slippers that we will be using for our Cupid On The Run PLDT Event. He readily followed my orders.

Parque Front Desk Officer -- We told her that when EA gets in, she is to say that it's Abbie Real (Abbie is my barkada from college) who owns Unit 601, the room where we all were.

Ralph -- He is from the Housekeeping Department of Parque. We told him that once EA gets there, he is to be instructed to stay at the sofa to wait for 'Abbie Real', the girl who has the two CDs. Unfortunately, because of the 'suspicious' set-up, EA didn't want to stay at the sofa. He went back to the lobby so our 'strippers' weren't able to immediately perform their special number.

The Highlights:
Finally called EA to tell him to go to the hotel unit once again. Made up a story that Abbie was in her bedroom when he got in. As soon as he opened the door, one of our strippers pulled him inside the room and they all did their fancy number.

We all came out from the kitchen and the bedroom, complete with our party poppers. EA was shocked to see everyone and was truly touched with the gesture.

He loved his iPOD cake from Art Cakes, his new MP3 player, and most of all, the 'strippers'! A special thanks to the three boys who really made EA's day. We also invited EA's good friend Geoff. The food was yummy and the kwentuhan was priceless!

EA has been so hardworking and dependable and I am happy to have him on my team. And this birthday surprise was our way to thank him for his kindness and loyalty and the non-stop laughter he brings to the agency. We love you, Jang! Stay the same.

On the Smell of Defeat and the Glory of Being Champs

Congratulations to the winners of brainbeam's FIRST AMAZING RACE, the BLACK team composed of Mona, Tikboy and our ever-reliable PA, Tetet.

A close second was the ever-so-bibo-but-fell-short RED team with team members Exenia, EA and Tito Obet!

I don't know what in the world happened to the WHITE team who arrived at the Pit Stop forty-five minutes after the red team accomplished the final task. To Tet, Rainier and Bru... better luck next year!

To all the clue keepers, a round of applause for each of you. Thank you very much for the support and enthusiasm.

Until December! Wait till we conquer more cities across the nation! Woohoo!

On My Face Plastered Along Pasay Road

My college buddy Borillo sent me this text message at 8:23 this morning:

"In fairness Valdez, nakita ko na ang lamp post banner mo sa Pasay Road. Smile to death.

Followed by this message:

"In fairness, Marixi Prieto, Tessie Coson ang mga kasama mo. Yours is located near Kink Cakes or Fujitsu Bldg, I think. Ang ganda kaya."

Thanks, pare! And the funny thing was, I also saw Borillo at Powerplant Mall kanina. She was telling the sales reps at 'tyler' about the lamppost thingie. Borillo is such a riot... and a darling!

Bru and I had a meeting at Nestle after lunch today. After that, we headed to PLDT. Before going to the meeting, I asked him if we could pass by Pasay Road to look at the now famous banner. Check this out! Hahaha! Extra na lang in a movie and I've penetrated all mediums na! ;)

I am a proud Assumptionist and I am grateful for this sweet recognition, as one of their successful graduates. All hail to my beloved Assumption!

Thanks to my beau who took the photo that was placed on the streamer. Naks!

On Rainy Days and A Sunny Future

I attended my kabarkada's wedding yesterday at the Chapel on The Hill in Nasugbu, Batangas. Their reception was at Josephine's in Tagaytay. The weather was B-AAAAAAAA-D! The fog was so low there was zero visibility. The rain was pouring like crazy and the wind was absolutely furious!
During Jeff and my friend, Ti-ne's "thank you speech" they expressed how truly grateful they were that family and friends stayed despite the 'storm'. Jeff said that they were planning the wedding for a year and a half, and were quite saddened that many of their plans didn't push thru because of the weather condition. Ti-ne was so overwhelmed she even cried.

I say, they were able to get thru yesterday with big smiles on their faces, then they can most certainly get thru ANYTHING life will throw at them. I enjoyed hosting the fab event and my congratulations again to the newlyweds!

On Unearthing The Good After A Disaster

"The Philippines National Disaster Coordinating Council, NDCC, reports 198 people are confirmed dead, 260 are missing and 64 are injured. The typhoon hit maximum sustained winds of 190 kilometers per hour at its center with gusts of up to 225 kph. Reming is the fourth typhoon to wreak havoc in the Philippines since September 27."

=====

He is still there in Bicol and I am worried as hell. It's a good thing his grandma was confined a day before the storm because of high blood. He and his aunt and uncle were inside the confines of the hospital so even if Typhoon Reming was destroying the whole of the region, they were safe. His grandma's house in Camalig, however, felt the rage of the Super Typhoon. Their entire basement was washed away by the mudflow and the second floor of their house was submerged knee-deep in water. Water supply is almost zero and people are starting to panic. There's no SMART signal there so we can no longer communicate. Thank God for his aunt's Globe phone. He was still able to get in touch with me via text last night.

This whole day, however, is probably the first time, ever, that I have not heard from him. I am so concerned about their condition there that last night, I was crying while praying the rosary. I was twisting and turning the whole night. I can't stand the thought of not knowing how he is. I know God is watching over him.

His lola being confirmed was a blessing in disguise.
His tita having two cellphones, a SMART and a GLOBE, is a blessing.
His being there is a blessing, to his relatives, for they have extra hands to help them pick up the broken pieces.

Most of all, this has made me realize how much I value this person. He means the world to me and I can't wait for him to come home. I know that after all this, life could only get better. Let's continue to pray for those whose lives took a 360 degree turn after this disaster. God be with them.

On Another Tree-Uprooting Experience

The Philippine Government suspended classes in all levels today in lieu of SuperTyphoon Reming. Just came from an ocular in Valenzuela and when we passed by EDSA, all the tarps of the big billboards have been folded up in preparation for the big storm. I bought huge candles yesterday from Megamall and stacked up on instant noodles. I admire PAG-ASA for being more vigilant and proactive (their readings during the Milenyo SuperTyphoon were precise) and the government for taking immediate precautionary measures compared to before.

Hubby told me that Bicol is already a mess, rooftops flying left and right. He's there now for a vacation so imagine how worried I am... Come home na, please...

I really wish Reming would go away or re-direct her flight. In the meantime, let's all pray for God's guidance and protection.

On Mr. Body Beautiful

This is Gay Magnet...
who sent me this picture over the Net.

Feel na feel ang kanyang buffed na body
Hay naku, Lucky Manzano wannabe...

He's been in the States for so long
I don't know if he even has plans of coming home.
From a doctor, ngayon, isa na siyang nurse...
Hope his situation hasn't gotten any worse.

I pray for strength for him everyday,
and someday soon, too, a 6-digit pay.
Pag mayaman ka na, bakasyon ako diyan.
Road trip tayo kahit saan! =)

On South Super Hi-Way's 'Fast and the Furious'

As we were coasting along SSH the other day, EA's eyes took notice of this 'vehicle'. Our guess was, it's a skeleton of a truck. Manong driver was oblivious to his surroundings. He was even wearing a cool pair of shades, deadma to the fact that the whole of South Super Hi-Way was staring at him and his fine set of wheels.

Just imagine if all the vehicles in the world were as bare and open as this one! I'd better put on sunblock everyday!!!

On A BEE-autiful Birthday!

Ako lang ang adult na naka-party hat... I love elephants naman kasi talaga! Yesterday, Lexie Toledo, my friend's daughter, celebrated her birthday at Jollibee Greenmeadows. Bespwen, Bespwen's boyfriend Bibi and yours truly were the first ones to arrive!

It was such a fun party! The programme was very entertaining and I must commend the host for being so proactive and funny. Bibi brought his camera so picture taking galore kami.

There's one pic here of a dancing lola. Slutty dance pa kamo. The host asked the kids to bring him two dancing lolas and boy, were they really grinding on the dance floor! The food was of course yummy and Lucky and Jo gave away so many prizes. So congratulations to you both! For a great party and for raising an incredibly cute princess. Until next year!!!

On A Career Worth Exploring

First window: Blued in SM Fairview...

Second window: Penshoppe in SM Megamall...
Mall window displays may just be headed to a different kind of direction in the next few years. EA is a frustrated ramp model. And everytime he'd have the chance, he'd pose beside mannequins, without any qualms. And look at him go!!! Super career talaga sa pag-e-emote that during his Blued posing session, kids and moms actually stopped to take a look at him! Hahaha!
He's a riot talaga! Kaya abangan niyo ang susunod niyang pag-po-posing. Mall tenants, brace yourselves! The next window could be yours!!!

On One Cheeky Day!

LAMOK looks like a Bonakid commercial model! She was at our house over the weekend and while playing near Pepoting's gate, she accidentally hit her cheek over a railing, thus the white paint mark. I have tons of her pictures on my cel phone. And I even have this video of her walking around our house wearing my red pointy shoes. She's just sooooo adorable! She's really Chloe in the flesh. Everytime I look at her photos, I can't help but laugh out loud. In the other photo, she's with her Ate Yang Yang, my sweet and super bibong inaanak. She's like 80lbs, Dex couldn't even last long carrying her. My pamangkins are so cute and cuddly!! I hope if I have kids of my own someday, they'll come out as pretty as these angels. Hugs to you both and to Euni (who unfortunately was nagda-drama during this time)! Love you girls!!!

On FOREVER

I can't even think of the perfect way to start this entry. Pretty much like how I never thought I would ever be swept off my feet again.
For quite some time now, I have relinquished to the fact that I would end up in the Pink Sisters sanctuary in Tagaytay. I honestly believed that that was the path I was supposed to take. But God (and Cupid!) had other plans up His sleeve and my destiny has taken a new course.
Friends and clients and acquaintances even, whom I haven't seen for a long time, come up to me and tell me how happy I look or how 'glowing' I am. I don't think it's my regular trips to my derma. =) Nor is it the success brainbeam has attained over the past years. The so-called 'glow' comes from deep within my heart, sparked by this one person who has totally changed my life. I have never been this happy and contented. He makes me appreciate the little things. He has affected me like nobody else has. He's brought me so much love, and joy, and comfort that my future now seems so much brighter and colorful than it's ever been. I remember hearing the song "The Last Time" and thinking to myself... this is exactly how I feel about this relationship.
========
The first time I fell in love was long ago.
I didn't know how to give my love at all.
The next time I settled for what felt so close.
But without romance, you're never gonna fall.
After everything I've learned;
Now it's finally my turn.
This is the last time I'll fall... in love.
The first time we walked under that starry sky,
there was a moment when everything was clear.
I didn't need to ask or even wonder why,
because each question is answered when you're near.
And I'm wise enough to know when a miracle unfolds,
this is the last time I'll fall in love.
Now don't hold back, just let me know.
Could I be moving much too fast or way too slow.
'Cause all of my life, I've waited for this day.
To find that once in a lifetime, this is it, I'll never be the same.
You'll never know what it's taken me to say these words.
And now that I've said them, they could never be enough.
As far as I can see, there's only you and only me.
This is the last time I'll fall in love.
Last time I'll fall in love.
The last time I'll fall... in love.
========
I'd like to thank YOU for your endless patience, understanding and sincerity. Problems crumble under my feet because I know you are there supporting me and believing in me. The world may not seem as perfect now, but I have high hopes and faith that we will get past this with flying colors. I look forward to far and beyond being with you. RED ORANGE, with all my heart.

On A HEART-felt Christmas Celebration

Last 17 November 2006 was record-breaking for the Agency. It was the first time that we had an event that lasted for... get this... 45 MINUTES!

The entire team was there... Bru, Exenia, Spike, EA, Tikboy and Toben.

It's rare that all of us get together for one event. We are usually dispatched to several locations. Surprisingly, there was no event that day so I asked everyone to be present, all in complete uniform!

The event was the Mall Decor Unveiling of Robinsons Galleria (with Barbie as the mall's main theme). Heart Evangelista hosted it and the guest of honor was Mayor Sonny Belmonte. The big bosses of Robinsons were all there. The Philippine Madrigal Singers performed and boy, were they awesome!

We had two pre-coordination meetings prior to the big event. Everything was laid out perfectly. However, event day arrives and Mayor SB informs the PR Group of Robinsons (who spearheaded the activity together with Ad & Promo) that he's at the mall premises already, ten minutes before the actual start of the event. So everyone had to rush, rush, rush! To top it all off, while the programme was ongoing, he announces that he has to leave already so we had to move parts of the programme to a later slot to give way to his speech and the actual mall decor unveiling ceremony!!! Whew, what a riot!

We were commended by our Clients for our presence of mind and how quick we were to reacting to the agents. I was mighty pleased with the team. And my kudos to Heart, whom I initially thought was going to give us a hard time, but ended up being very alert and proactive. I have a newfound respect for her now.

After everything was over, we all had a good laugh. It was one of our sweetest and most enjoyable events! And best of all, we kicked off the Christmas festivities together. Super saya!

ON MY SWEET SURRENDER

That gaze of his can melt me
Like butter under the summer’s day
Those brown eyes that pierce my happy heart
And chases my fears away

I was swept off my feet
Totally caught by surprise
Now life is just the way I want it
Like a painting of a picturesque sunrise

His quiet power
His gentle ways
His pure intentions
The words he says

His beautiful spirit
His selfless love
His outlook in life
He’s my gift from Above

Each day we spend together
I wish would lead to far beyond forever
You took my breath away
And you have all of me, come what MAY.

On Being Socially Responsible

WHAT: CWC Student Leaders Congress

WHERE: Assumption Antipolo

WHEN: 10 November 2006

Guest Speaker: MELINA MAY VALDEZ

CWC consists of four (4) of the top exclusive girls schools in the country: Assumption College (AC), St. Scholastica's College, College of the Holy Spirit and Miriam College.

I was invited by Mrs. V, Dean of Student Affairs of the Assumption, to be AC's representative-guest speaker. There were three other ladies who represented the three other schools. It was such an honor to be part of such an 'elite' bunch. One was this former Scholastican who's a big time lady in VOLVO and also conducts seminars on leadership here and abroad. The lady who represented College of the Holy Spirit was a big boss from SMART. And the other girl (who had this unbelievably soothing voice) was this charming, women's org leader and she represented Miriam.

The talk was about making your mark. Our audience was mostly composed of Student Council officers. They were very attentive and I loved the fact that they laughed at my jokes. They seemed to relate to me the most since I was the youngest guest. It was so great being able to share with them my experiences and how my being a former Student Council President helped shape my future.

Each of the schools gave us cool tokens! Assumption gave us a small bag, the inside made of AC's high school uniform pattern while the outside followed the print of our college uniform. St. Scho (where I attended High School, mind you) gave us this cute keychain of a Kulasa (that's how we are called in SSC), a keychain with the St. Benedict medal, and a mug. College of the Holy Spirit gave us a plastic jug of yummy cookies, while Miriam gave us an innovative pen with small post-its and a utility bag.

It was an experience I shall treasure for as long as I live. And I hope I get invited to more functions like this so that I can reach out to more young people. Nothing beats the feeling of being able to make a little difference in the world.

On My First Official Commercial Shoot

Well, well, well... What do we have here...

On my April 4 blog entry, I wrote... "Sa susunod, TV commercial na 'to!", pertaining to my perceived aftermath of my fabulous print ad model career. PLDT got me to 'star' in their PLDT NDD P10.00 per call promo ad, which came out in all the leading broadsheets. And I honestly believed that that won't be my last moment of fame.

Last November 11, I appeared in a testimonial like commercial for PLDT Budget Card. My script went something like this...

"One time, gamit ko tong phone sa boarding house... Enter ang landlady, GALIT! Eh naka-PLDT Budget Card naman ako, no. Tatlong piso lang tumawag sa abroad. Mahal pa ang softdrinks!"

Hahaha! PLDT paid me a hefty ten thousand worth of SM Gift Certificates! I bought a new comforter, a couple of nice blouses, new fluffy pillows, and the rest I gave to Tikboy, my messenger, and Mama, who bought groceries.

Being in front of the camera is awfully nerve-wracking! My hats off to the Jerichos and Judy Anns of this world!! It's so tough talaga to act. You have to: 1) memorize your lines (you CANNOT make a mistake or you'll start from the very beginning!), 2) act natural while maintaining good eye contact with the camera, 3) stay alive under the extreme heat from the lights! Good grief! Buti na lang I psyched myself well. Just had a few takes and the agency reps were quite pleased, they even said I can do commercial acting for a living. Yeah, boy!

Type ko mag-Coke commercial...

On A THOR-rific Surprise!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BESPWEN RIKA!!!

It's been a while since I last did an extravagant surprise for my bespwen. I remember some few years back when I filled their gate with balloons and put a large streamer over her car with my birthday greeting on it!

This year's surprise is a tad more extravagant. I had R&B sensation and host of Wave 89.1's Duets with Thor, THOR (of course) go to her office to sing her her favorite song "Without You". After Thor's romantic rendition, he gave her a bouquet of red roses and my cake-like (layered kasi) gift which contained a fancy bag, gold hoop earrings and a baby blue striped top-pang-fashionista.

My messenger Tikboy was the one who accompanied Thor and he told me "mangiyak-ngiyak" daw sa gulat at tuwa si Bespwen! Once again, I rule the "big birthday surprises" department. Sabi pa ni Bespwen, "ang lupet" ko daw.

Hearing how happy I made her just feels so freakin' great! Cheers on your 29th, B! Mahal na mahal kita.

On The Craziest Event We've Ever Handled!

This kid won Best In Halloween costume during our recently-concluded NO TRICKS ALL TREATS, A HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION AT THE ROBINSONS MALLS. I was assigned at Robinsons Galleria, where supposedly, all the cranky and obnoxious moms and dads will be.

I was at the office at around 3:20 in the morning on the day of the 29th. We dispatched the 6 teams to the different malls and all vans were outta MB Aguirre at around 5am. We didn't have that much problems entering the mall. The riot was during the registration and the Trick or Treat parade! All the stage moms wanted to be with their kids as we went around the mall. Grrr... They were all so stubborn, even more hard-headed than their kids!!! After the exhausting parade, everything was smooth sailing. We had an interactive magic show, a performance from kids celebrities such as Igi Boy, Basti and Kristel of Goin Bulilit, pretty Ella of Starstruck Kids and Gabby Roxas and Bea Binene of Bahay Mo Ba To and Lovely Day. The kids were very easy to manage and actually made great co-hosts! After their performance, we had fun games for the kids. Then, it was time to judge the Best In Halloween Costume. Costumes ranged from warriors, to teleserye characters, to princesses and enchanted creatures.

I just had a meeting with Robinsons today and despite the chaos, they said we did a pretty darn good job! Yehey! And to top it off, we have another event lined up with them on the 17th. Woohoo! Our invasion of Robinsons Land begins...

On A Pair To Watch Out For

Who knows... they might be the "it" couple of the 30th century!

The baby wrapped like a shawarma is Baby SAMANTHA MUTUC, the first-born of my Account Executive CS and his hubby (my brother's best bud way back grade school) Bombing. -- Picture 2

Donning an all-white get up naman is Baby SANTINO JULIO T. ALMOSA, my adorable inaanak! He is the son of my sweet K.A. and her beloved Guam-based hubby Duskee! -- Picture 1

They're both beautiful babies! They have their parents to thank for it! (naks!) And having said that, I'm sure they'll both grow up to be fine young citizens of this nation (hehe.) Magpapaka-matchmaker ako and make sure they meet up when the right time comes. Yehey! Another good karma for me! I just hope their parents don't kill me for setting them up this early.

On Fab Find # 9: Bangkok

These gold hoops are a bit heavy yet H-O-TTTT! Even Exenia thought so, when she noticed it during lunch. When I wear the chunky gold bangle, will take a pic of it too!

Cuz, I love these talaga!!!

On brainbeam's Halloween Extravaganza

Peek-a-boo!!!

This Halloween, brainbeam's embarking on another first! It's our first time to do a simultaneous event, 6 malls to be exact! Our company was tasked to be the implementing agency of the NO TRICKS ALL TREATS HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION AT THE ROBINSONS MALLS. On October 29 (that's this Sunday!), kids aged 5-12 will be treated to a day of fun and freebies!

The kids, some 300 of them, will be going from tenant to tenant for the Trick or Treat parade. There's also a magic show, fun games, a celebrity kid show (Goin Bulilit and Starstruck Kids) and a mini fashion show to determine who among the contenders will win Best in Halloween costume!

Preparations are almost done. We have our final coordination meeting tomorrow with all the 6 teams. Our office is filled with small bayong loot bags, pumpkins, 5-feet tall witches (and they're scary I tell ya!), game materials, scarecrow's straw hats and other Halloween paraphernalia.

I really pray we do a kick-ass job on Sunday so that Robinsons can trust us again to do another project. I wanna do the Christmas event! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will really be NO TRICKS on this day and just ALL TREATS and smiles from our target audience.

Advance Happy Halloween everybody! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!

On His First Trip Abroad

Baby Packy is my third child. His Kuya Milo (a brown dog) and Ate Chloe (a pink dolphin), his younger sister Carrie (a pink bear), and the twins (identical brown dogs) Felina and Felisha were all happy for the little guy! He's the smallest of the bunch so it was easy for me to fit him inside by luggage and bring him anywhere.

He had a grand time at the temples and was jumping for joy when he rode the elephant. Look at him, super tired from going shopping around Chatuchak. He'll be your tour guide as I show you more highlights from my trip. In the meantime, gotta give him his daily dose of Milo...

On One Golden Experience

Sa wat dee! My Thailand trip ranks a perfect 10 on the fun-o-meter! I had a blast with Cuz and our adventure-filled 5-day vacation is one for the books.

Bangkok is SO much like Manila... from the main roads, to the way the locals look and dress, the traffic, the modes of transportation and the warm and sunny smiles of the Thai people.

Cuz and I went temple-hopping and the structures were just breathtaking. The intricate designs and the materials used were very creatively executed. I simply could not stop taking pictures!!!

My brand-new red maleta's 'powers' were tested to the hilt. It was able to successfully hold almost all of my pasalubongs. It's shopping heaven there, I tell ya. And I did not miss the Philippines that much because whenever we'd ride around town, it just seemed like I was in Taft, or Nagtahan, or the Skyway! Ahh... just thinking about Chatuchak, their popular weekend bazaar (as big as the whole BF Homes, mind you) and the goodies I bought there... plus the mouth-watering food, the elephants and the temples makes me kilig all over.

My Top 10 Fab Finds:
1) My chunky gold bangle (from India pa daw)
2) Black watch
3) A complete set of pearls (ring, pendant, earrings)
4) A black shirt with a bejeweled crown embossed on it
5) A thin black belt (that they can cut to your desired length)
6) A Nothing But Water-like bathing suit (just gotta lose the weight!)
7) Pink and Green shawls
8) Funky creme & brown mailman's bag
9) Gold hoop earrings (super, super fab!)
10) Five (5) nice blouses that all cost below 250 baht

So what are you waiting for? Call the Kenstar Travel Agency now and book that flight to Bangkok!

Good one again, Cuz! Next stop... QUEENSLAND!!!

On Yet Another 'Amazing Race'

After my last trip out of the country, Cuz and I are scheduled to meet in Thailand this Friday. Oohhh... how sosyal! It'll surely be another one helluva 'race'. Race against time... (Must finish shoppin'!) Race against the military tanks (hahaha, mala-Saving Private Ryan?) ... Race against slip disk pains and heatstroke (but am still bringing a light jacket).

Cuz and I emailed all day counterchecking our THINGS TO BRING. I am bringing Geebee, my Gameboy so that I have company during my 3-hour trip. Cuz thought I was funny because I am still bringing shampoo. I hate hotel shampoo. They make my hair extra dry and lifeless. Don't wanna destroy my damn curls!!! I am just soooooo omega excited! Am planning to pack tonight.

Will post pics from out trip. In the meantime... pag-tiyagaan niyo muna ang mapa ng Thailand.

On How Successful Women Should View Marriage

In a brief conversation, a man, speaking to a woman, was out to pursue the question, "What kind of man are you looking for?"

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asked, "Do you really want to know?"Reluctantly, he said, "Yes" as she began to expound..."

As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can't do for myself.

I pay my own bills.

I take care of my household without the help of any man- or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, 'What can you bring to the table?'"

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money. She quickly corrected his thought and stated, "

I am not referring to money... I need something more. I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life."

He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain. She said,

"I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection Mentally. I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man.

I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection Spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked... Believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster.

I need a man who is striving for perfection Financially because I don't need a financial... burden.

I am looking for someone who is Sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but Strong enough to keep me grounded.

I am looking for someone who I can Respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive... He just has to be worthy.

God made woman to be a helpmate for man. At this point, I can't help a man if he can't help himself."

When she finished her spill, she looked at him. He sat there with a puzzled look on his face, and exclaimed, "You're asking for a whole lot!"

To which she gracefully replied..."Only if you think I'm not WORTH a lot."

Got this from KC Concepcion's Multiply blog. Very nice.

On Starting Anew

It's as if I was in a coma for so long and Prince Charming finally kissed me on the lips to wake me up from my deep slumber.

I'm back! And I've never felt SO good. Life has been nothing but generous to me... Business has been action-packed. My projects are all finally over and I can sit back, relax, and wait for the dough to start pouring in. I have an upcoming trip to Bangkok with Cuz... something that has had me awake and restless for the past few nights. I'm just soooooooooo excited to leave!!! And then there's this undeniable twinkle in my eye that only love and passion can provide. ;) I've been so blessed.

And hopefully, now that I'm 'awake', I can get to write more entries again. Ahhh...

This was taken during my recent Bohol vacation. That was just THE most perfect day...

On My UltraElectroMagneticJam Day

Kudos to Jam 88.3 for a great album! Well done! Loved almost all of the Eraserheads classics on this helluva revival CD. Indeed a tribute to the great ones, whose songs once served as our background music every summer when my cousins and I would play mahjong the minute the clock struck 1. Those times were awesome...

==

This morning when I woke up, I suddenly had the chills and this awful pain in my stomach. It was unexplainable, until it dawned on me that my late grandma (a.k.a. Mang) paid me a visit. After Mama 'spoke' to her, while stroking my back, I cried non-stop. Then after a few minutes, I was back to normal. The pain was gone. It was Mang's birthday last 16 January and I wasn't able to drop by the cemetery. I am so guilty because lately I haven't been praying for her as often as I used to. CS was kind enough to accompany me earlier. I brought white flowers for her and Lopang (my grandpa). I miss her so much and I sure wish she could be with us now to enjoy all these 'successes' I am reaping. I'll take her to trips with us, for sure! But I know that she is happy, wherever she is now. I love you, Mang. And thank you for still looking after me.

We are cooking up two mall tours aside from the already sure projects with have with MAGGI, PBA and PLDT. I feel so damn good! The stress is crazy, but expected. Preparation time is always the most hectic. Am looking forward to another smashing year for the agency and I hope I can help more people with these projects. Life is good...

On Rewarding Myself

I will be back here in no time and I'm super duper excited!!! I'm treating Cui and Dexter to Singapore and we leave on the 28th. Last year was a tremendous year for the agency and I am proud to say the rewards have been overflowing. I can't wait for them to see this place! And the Night Safari... and taste all the yummy food there.

Cuz, see you super soon!!!

On Starting The Year Right

Majestic Boracay... Certainly my favorite piece of paradise. Cuz and I were there last January 3 to once again relax for 3 whole days before heading back to the harsh reality of work and deadlines. I took this picture using my N70 and the sepia setting added much drama to this already beautiful scene.

The weather was just right. It drizzled at night but that didn't dampen our spirits. We had an awesome time and to pay tribute to that wonderful vacation, I'd like to turn back time a bit and reminisce on the things I experienced there...

1. I will never forget that moment when Cuz and I were walking along this new strip along "D Mall" and by the time we got to the end of the road, I was the ONLY person wearing a bikini! Everyone was already in regular clothes and I felt like Paris Hilton in a room full of nuns. People gave me 'the stare'. So that's how a goldfish feels like!

2. I will never forget the sumptuous dinner we had on our last night there. Mouth watering crabs and grilled fish. It was to die for! Every time I remember that meal, I could feel saliva starting to well up inside my mouth. It was that f*%&$# good!!!

3. I will never forget my weird sunburn, especially since I still have it. Didn't take off my super short shorts the first time we went sun bathing. And in just a few minutes, the mark registered already. Darn! Then come Day 2, I dropped the shorts and just wore my skimpy string bikini. That left a mark too. You can now say I am tri-colored. Hahaha!

There are a hundred and one reasons why I will never forget my latest trip to Bora. But what was most special was the fact that I once again got to spend time with Cuzzy Wuzzy. We intend on going to Bohol next year and I'm sure that'll be a blast too.

Thanks for the wacky time there, Cuz! See you on the 28th!!!

On One Orgasmic Experience!

He was standing just a few feet away from CS and I. I can't believe that I was just blogging about this guy a few months ago... and last night... ooohhhh... last night was indeed the best 1-hour of my life.

At around 5:30pm yesterday, CS and I headed off to Greenbelt 3 to catch a glimpse of our prince charming. By the time we got there, there was already a line of equally excited women dying to see our dreamboat. The Greenbelt 3 Fountain Area was transformed into a small concert venue, complete with trees lined up with Christmas lights and a white tent over our heads. There was a bit of a riot at the entrance because of some dazed security personnel but CS and I were able to successfully squirm our way in. Once seated, I almost screamed at this one security guy who kept asking CS and I to move seats. GRRR!!!

A little before eight... my heart was racing so fast I couldn't see straight. Then, at around 810, he came out from his tent and OHMIGAWD, was he HOOOOOOOT!!!

Constantine was mesmerizing!
We simply could not take our eyes off him. Tikboy was such an angel to have lined up at 6am just to get our tickets!!! It was SO worth it!!! His deep set eyes and soft lips were just a sight to behold. I was screaming that whole 1 hour and CS and I would alternately shout "I love you, Constantine" at the top of our lungs. There was this one lucky bitch from the audience who was able to take home his towel! So disappointing that he didn't throw it our way. Our seats were awesome! It was a few feet away from his tent so imagine our disbelief when we saw him up close. I swear, I almost fainted (and one lady actually did!). His musical director was Jay Durias of South Border. He was awesome! Loved his songs and his voice! I've never been so in love!!! OHMIGAWD!!!

Sana ako na lang yung microphone niya... sana ako na lang yung blazer niya... hell, sana ako na lang girlfriend niya!!! When he took off his blazer, the crowd went wild. I almost fell from my chair (and note that I was STANDING on it, not sitting on it). I love you, Constantine! I love you forever!!! It was one of the best, most exciting nights of my life.

On These 25 Precious Tickets

On our way home from our PLDT meeting, CS and I passed by Greenbelt 3 and I screamed upon seeing this huge streamer hanging from the building facade. CONSTANTINE was staring right at us!

We quickly got the number to call for inquiry on the event. His concert was set for November 17... and that's... 24 minutes from now!!! After talking to an Ayala Center representative, we learned that since we have no Ayala Discount Card, we just need to present a P500 single proof of purchase to the Greenbelt 3 Customer Service to get free tickets. While CS was on the phone, I was still driving. Before reaching Magallanes, we both decided to go for it and go back to G3 to purchase something worth P500! Despite the traffic, unbelievable price of gas0line and the hassle, we headed back.

Once we got to the Greenbelt Customer Service counter, we were informed that they will still be releasing the tickets tomorrow at 11am!!! CS and I then rushed to Music 1 to buy two CDs (MYMP's double CD and the Memories of Love Live Concert CD) and almost kissed our P500 receipt from M1.

Here's the thing. We have tons of stuff to do at the office so tomorrow, we asked Tikboy (my trusty messenger) to be at Greenbelt by 6am to FALL IN LINE. Only 25 TICKETS will be released!!! I am so keeping my fingers crossed! Constantine is such a dreamboat and we will see him tomorrow no matter what!

Tikboy is our biggest bullet. Wish us luck!

On What Lies Ahead

This has been my company's best year yet. I am immensely grateful for the 'overflowing' blessings (that's how Chilie put it earlier today) we have received. We started 2005 with really good projects, and it poured non-stop from there. I had a meeting with my clients from PLDT this afternoon and they guaranteed me projects until December. Whew! Just when I thought things will slow down, God surprises me again with this! Yey!

But then just a few minutes ago, I received an email from one of my other clients informing me that they're awarding this project we bidded for to another agency. My heart sank. We really prepared for that bid! But like I always say, "hindi siguro 'meant'". God has his reasons and I am still blessed in other ways. Admittedly, I'm starting to get a bit tense for next year. I now have 5 employees under payroll so I have to work extra hard to ensure that we're all set for 2006.

The only thing that calms me is prayers. GOD WILL PROVIDE... as He has always done in the past three and a half years of brainbeam's existence. GOD WILL PROVIDE, MAY. GOD WILL PROVIDE.

On Finally Taking That BIG Step

After almost a decade of being 'blindly' in love with BIG, I finally let go. I finally released this chain that's been tugging me deeper and deeper into this black hole. I am free... and it feels fuckin' great!

History was made last Oct 29 when I finally had the nerve to tell him that having him in my life is causing me more pain and harm that good. I have reached the end of my rope and my eyes were opened to the truth that I have made up all these 'dreams' of us getting back together. It was never bound to happen. And it never will. Because now, more than ever, I am determined to not let him walk all over me. It was a long, sweet journey of highs and lows. This roller coaster of a ride has reached its destination. I'm proud to come out of this a winner. I am at peace with myself and I am grateful for friends and family for being supportive and loving and showing me that life doesn't end here. It's just a new, fresh beginning for me. And I can't wait to start!
